The original Socom brought shooter games to a new level with 16 player online voice chat enabled action. With more than a million copies sold, what could they do to make it better in Socom 2? They listened to the players.
The main thing that people complained about in Socom was people getting into the walls and shooting people from inside the wall. In Socom 2 they spent a lot of time testing the maps to make sure this wasn't possible, but even then they suspected people would find away, so they built in the ability to patch the game after they released it. So when some glitchers started ruining the game, they released a patch which fixed those problems.
Another thing they noticed was that when people made a kill the game, they often would stand over the body and hop up and down or move side to side. So it Socom 2 they actually built in the victory dance option. Where you can stand over a fallen foe and do the funky chicken or other break dancing moves. No better way to taunt your enemy.
