Hi! My name is Jane Uy. I was a student at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo majoring in chemistry. In fact, I just got a job in San Diego at Arena Pharmaceuticals. I know Chemistry sounds like a really hard major, but I love it. I owe it all to my high school AP Chemistry teacher Mr. Gonzales. He was the one who introduced me to fantastic explosions with magnesium! :) I never knew chemistry could be so much fun! But don't get me wrong, it is definitely hard to master. Chemistry isn't my only love. I have a lot of hobbies. I like to cook. I like to sew. I'm a really crafty person. My friends call me an asian Martha Stewart.I suppose some would take offense, but I actually kinda like Martha Stewart (even though she is a little strange!) I used to run track in high school. My event was the 100m and 300m hurdles. I still run occasionally, but I'm just not as motivated anymore. I love to write. I love writing long letters to old friends and new friends. I like imagining a person's face as they open their mailbox and find a letter stuffed with thoughts. I write in my journal as a release. It's really therapeutic, you should try it sometime.
